Sinopharm, Vietnam's Corona Vaccination Is OK?

We will send vaccination information to everyone staying in Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, I am not returning to Japan and am providing accounting support to a Japanese company in Ho Chi Minh City.

In recent notable news, it was reported that the Vietnamese government will purchase 20 million doses of the Chinese-made vaccine Sinopharm.

I have lived and worked in Hong Kong and Zhejiang Province in China, so I have less resistance than other Japanese people, but I am still afraid of the quality of products from China when it comes to vaccines and food. I'll put it away. On the other hand, if you live in Vietnam, you cannot freely choose the vaccine, so whether you will be vaccinated with something other than Sinopharm will depend on your luck.

Therefore, I would like to write this column for those who, like me, are afraid of the Vietnamese vaccination or are worried about Sinopharm.

Sinopharm, Vietnam's Corona Vaccination Is OK?

There are many rumors about Sinopharm in China, but it is already popular in China and has been used over 100 million times.

According to reports from the National Health Commission and the Chinese government, as of July 4, 2021, approximately 130 million vaccinations have been administered in 31 provinces, including directly controlled municipalities. The preventive effect has been recorded at more than 701 TP1T each.

Since Chinese and Japanese people are closely related, there seems to be no problem other than the vaccine's effectiveness being reduced.

I really want to use AstraZeneca in Vietnam!

In Vietnam, the majority of people have been vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine, and vaccinations have recently begun for children in District 7 of Ho Chi Minh. The next track record is Pfizer and Sinopharm.

When getting vaccinated in Vietnam, you cannot choose which vaccine you will receive, it depends on your luck.
Many Japanese people will want to get the AstraZeneca vaccine, which has been approved by the Japanese government and has a proven track record in Japan.

I could consider returning to Japan, but the quarantine period before I can re-enter the country would be about a month, and it would cost an additional 600,000 yen, so it's a difficult decision to make.

Japanese Consulate in Ho Chi Minh offers vaccination information

You can apply for AstraZeneca vaccination at the Japanese Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Japanese government has so far provided hundreds of thousands of AstraZeneca doses to the Vietnamese government.

It seems that some of that money is being distributed to Japanese nationals living overseas.

The Japanese Consulate publishes vaccination information on its website from time to time.

Recently, we are encouraging people to get vaccinated on their embassy website.
We recommend that you check the consulate's website from time to time, not just for vaccinations.

However, as a matter of concern,The Japanese government does not assume responsibility if you receive a vaccine overseas.

Therefore, even if side effects occur in Vietnam, we must be prepared that there is no guarantee from the Japanese government.I haven't taken the shot either because there is no guarantee, but recent trends seem to be that we will live in a world where vaccination is a prerequisite.

For example, restrictions on going out will be eased from October 1, 2021, but only those who have completed two vaccinations will be able to return to work immediately, and those who have not been vaccinated at all will be able to go out for a while. (green card). In fact, green cards have been introduced on a trial basis in District 7 of Ho Chi Minh since the end of September.

Thoughts on vaccination in Vietnam

In developed countries such as Singapore and Japan, it is being talked about as a booster vaccination.

In Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, vaccination rates are increasing slowly, even though many months have passed since vaccinations began.

In Vietnam, it has been reported that vaccination will be completed by the end of the year, but I think it will take until next spring. In developing countries like these, the cost of arranging vaccines has reached a point where it is having an impact on national finances, and it is also overlooked that negotiations with foreign countries are not going smoothly. As I continue to live in Vietnam, I can't help but feel frustrated at the slow progress in vaccinations in Vietnam.

I would like developed countries, including Japan, to prioritize supplying vaccines to developing countries rather than giving priority to booster vaccinations. Once everyone in developed countries receives a booster shot, vaccination in developing countries will be further delayed. If that happens, the number of deaths in developing countries will likely increase even more (in Southeast Asia, the number of deaths in each country is in the tens of thousands, already exceeding Japan).

In addition, if forced government intervention such as lockdowns continues for a long time, it will become clear that the country is such a country and that it is socialist.I am worried that country risk will rise and lead to investment restraints. alreadyI was unable to leave my room for three months. The factory has been shut down for months, with only one truck passing every minute on the main road leading to the factory.
